TDI Nitrox Diver Course

This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from twenty-two (22) to forty (40 ) percent oxygen content. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in diving activities using O2 content mixes of EAN22 - EAN40 without direct supervision. The course structure and duration entails a minimum lecture of 4 hrs and 2 practicum dives using nitrox.

Student Prerequisites:
1. Be a minimum age of fifteen (15) years
2. Have a minimum certification rating of Open Water Diver or equivalent, or a current enrollment in an Open Water Diver course

Course Fee: US$220 per student and includes Manual and Certification upon completion.
Excluded are transportation, Acc., Meals, Dive Boat, and nitrox tank & fills.

TDI ADVANCED NITROX DIVER COURSE

This course examines the use of EAN-21 through one hundred percent oxygen (100%O2) for optimal mixes to a depth of forty (40) msw / one hundred thirty (130) fsw. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing the use of EAN-21 through 100%O2 for dives not requiring staged decompression, although decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor.

Student Prerequisites:
1. Be a minimum age of fifteen (15).
2. Have a minimum certification of Basic Nitrox Diver.
3. Show proof of 25 logged open water dives.

Minimum # of training dives: 4
Minimum # of classroom & briefing hrs.: 6

Course Fee: US$350 per student and includes Manual & Certification upon completion. Excludes transpo, acc. & food, boat rentals, equipment rentals, and gas fills.

TDI DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES

This course examines the theory, methods, and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course, or it may be taught in conjuction with TDI courses such as the Advanced Nitrox Course and the Advanced Wreck Course. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not to exceed a maximum depth of forty-five meters of saltwater (45msw)/ one hundred fifty feet of saltwater (150fsw). The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up, and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to use EANx or Oxygen for decompression provided that mixes are within their current certification level.

Student Prerequisites:
1. Be a minimum age of 18
2. Have a minimum certification of Advanced Diver
3. Show proof of 25 logged Open Water Dives

Minimum # of training dives: 4
Minimum # of classroom & briefing hrs.: 6

Course Fee: US$400 per student and includes Manual & Certification upon completion. Excludes transpo, acc. & food, boat rentals, equipment rentals, and gas fills.

TDI Advanced Nitrox - Deco Procedures Diver Package

This training course combines the Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures Diver training courses to maximum training depths of forty-five meters (45msw) or one hundred fifty feet (150fsw) using Oxygen Enriched Air for bottom mixes and 50%O2 mix for decompression gas. The “built-in” 10 – 12 hours of theory time provides the diver a better grasp of Decompression Illness and Oxygen Toxicity concepts and be able to confidently come up with dive plans that further reduce risks of DCI and O2 Toxicity. The in-water skills and exercises introduce the student diver to innovative techniques in survival, self-sufficiency, and proper decompression management.

PART I: The Course starts with a 4 – 5 hours lecture on the following subject matters:
A Review on the History and Development of Nitrox
Oxygen and the Diver – A discussion of the Pathophysiology of Oxygen
Mathematical Principles of Gas Mixtures
The Equivalent Air Depth Formula and Mixture Application
Oxygen Handling and Nitrox Dispensing procedures

PART II: COMPLETION OF QUIZZES

PART III: EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION

PART IV: CONFINED WATER SKILL-EXERCISES (33ft./10m./2ata)
A. Removal & Replacement of Regulator with Long Hose
B. Air-Sharing Techniques with Long Hose
2. Gas Consumption Data Recording
3. A. Horizontal Breath-Hold Swim for 60ft./18m.
B. Horizontal Breath-Hold Swim for 60ft./18m., Share Air – stationary, Share Air – swim
C. Horizontal Breath-Hold swim Without Mask for 60ft./18m., Share-Air
D. Buddy Chase Scenario
4. Removal & Replacement of Pony/Deco Bottle Exercise
5. Reel & Balloon Deployment Exercise
6. Ascent and Decompression Management Exercise
